About this contract

The Space Technology Applications from Research (STAR) project at the University of Leicester requires a Coordinate Measuring Machine, suitable for the accurate measurement of precision components, made from various grades of Stainless Steels/Steels, Aluminium Alloys, Brass, Copper Molybdenum and other materials. The Machine is needed to support a wide range of research groups and projects within the STAR project to measure/check components to a level of high accuracy for space flight and other areas of Engineering based research. The University proposes awarding a contract for a suitable machine by carrying out an open tender exercise. This procurement process is advertised on the University's electronic tendering portal (Delta E-Sourcing) and Contracts Finder as required within the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The contract is funded by a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant award. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
