About this contract
Colchester Borough Council has been awarded funding from the Department of Business Energy and Industrial strategies Heat Networks Delivery Unit (HNDU) to undertake further studies to develop to a more detailed level, the potential for an extensive district heating network in Colchester. The Council is looking to commission 3 separate pieces of work furthering the ambition to deliver two heat networks within the Colchester borough. These are as follows: Part One - Northern Gateway Design – following on from Masterplanning and Feasibility Part Two - Northern Gateway Financial modelling to follow design work. Part Three - Heat Network Feasibility Study for Hythe area of East Colchester, following on from Heat Mapping and Masterplanning The Consultant shall ensure that all pieces of work adhere to the voluntary CIBSE Code of Practice and may be required to demonstrate that this has been achieved. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
