About this contract
This Invitation to Tender (and the associated draft Contract and documents) (ITT) relates to the procurement of refurbishment works to the Gasworks Pipe Bridge. The Isis Gasworks Footbridge (also known as the Gasworks Pipe Bridge) crosses the river Thames between Friars Wharf and Baltic Wharf, Oxford (Eastings:451134 Northings: 205625). Please note that this bridge was built in 1927 by Head Wrightson & Co. Ltd to carry pipes across the River Thames. The structure was modified in the 1970s to accommodate a public footpath with stairs - on the north side only -and ramps on either side. In summary (details of the works required is included in our Specification, attached to this ITT) the scope of works includes: A. The repair and strengthening services for the deteriorated steelwork throughout the Bridge; B. The removal and safe disposal of existing concrete deck planks including of the supporting steel angles and the installation of new fibre reinforced polymer deck panels C. the removal of dilapidated painting and repainting; D. The repairs or replacement of the existing bridge parapet; E. The repair of the bridge abutments. F. The installation of Lockable access doors to the rooms behind the existing bridge abutments
