About this contract

UCL Partners Procurement Service (PPS) on behalf of the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust (the Authority) is looking to establish a new National Sole Supplier Framework, that will deliver services on a national basis across England, for the provision of Managing Agent Services for Clinical and Domestic Waste for the NHS and Local Authorities. In relation to Local Authorities, the services only relate to clinical waste and not domestic waste management type services. Specifically, the Managing Agent will provide independent management services as an agent for and on behalf of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s, which includes GP’s and Pharmacies), Local Authorities, (which include Disposal Waste Authorities) and NHS Trusts across England. The main purpose of the Managing Agent is to provide innovation and reduce unnecessary costs associated with collection and disposal of waste, without detrimental affect on the services. In addition the Managing Agent role will be incentivised to reduce costs year on year for the services it provides in addition to the managing of the clinical and domestic waste contracts. Typical functions of the Managing Agent include; day to day management of clinical and domestic waste contracts, bill validation, training and education, contract monitoring, auditing and compliance checks, undertaking OJEU procurement processes on behalf of its clients. Please note this list is not exhaustive, kindly refer to the specification in the tender box.
