About this contract
West Essex CCG is committed to the delivery of a fragility fracture liaison service that supports primary and secondary prevention, ensuring equity of patient access to this service. Primary prevention includes ensuring that risk stratification has been undertaken and all appropriate investigations, including DXA scan for those at medium risk, have been requested and completed and start drug and other treatments according to NICE and National Guidance and within local agreements for men. The British Orthopaedic Association has stated that \"A major change is needed in fracture services to ensure that every patient presenting with a fragility fracture is assessed for osteoporosis and referred for treatment as appropriate. Secondary prevention should not only address osteoporosis but the risk of additional falls should be addressed, in terms of the patient's medical condition and that of their environment.\" West Essex CCG wishes to seek a suitably qualified provider to work in partnership to deliver these services to their patients. Interested providers are asked to register on the Attain Bravo portal to access details of this opportunity.
