About this contract
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset, the ‘Customer’, is seeking to appoint a contractor to install and commission APD Artemis telematics equipment into Police vehicles. The Contract will also be available to Gloucestershire Constabulary to use should they decide to purchase ADP Artemis equipment within the duration of the Contract. The Customer has purchased 550 sets of APD Artemis telematics equipment which will be installed in the highest usage Police vehicles for Avon and Somerset Constabulary. Data from the Artemis equipment will be used to track vehicles, provide management information and monitor some vehicle functions for the Customer. The data will also be used for evidential purposes by the Force, legal representatives or by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, and therefore the quality and accuracy of the installation is of paramount importance. The Customer has installed and commissioned 15 sets of the Artemis equipment, and approximately 100 will be installed by the vehicles manufacturers at the build stage. The Customer requires a Contractor to install approximately 400 sets of equipment into the Customers vehicles, however, no guarantee will be given as to the exact quantity. Any remaining units will be held as stock by the Customer. The Contract is for the installation and commissioning of this equipment only, and is anticipated to last for a period of no more than six months, however, the contract will be awarded for a period of one year, extendable for one further year but mutual agreement.
