About this contract

Extra Care Housing provides a preventative approach to supporting people to retain independence, choice and control and provides a viable alternative to residential care home placements, key elements of Extra Care schemes include: · security of tenure deriving either from an assured tenancy or lease with the right to control access to their own property; · independent living by providing individually tenanted and self-contained accommodation and services that are tailored to be flexible and responsive to changing need;< /p> · the option to provide opportunities for social interaction and community engagement; · an ethos that promotes self-determination, enabling and independence; · a model of supported housing rather than residential care. Ca re is to be provided within a number of Lots of pre-existing Extra Care schemes. They are: Lo t 1 · Sp ringbank Court, Blackburn · St Margaret's Court, Blackburn Lo t 2 · Ki ngsway, Blackburn Lo t 3 · Co tton Spinners Court, Darwen · Hi ndle Court, Darwen · Le es Court, Darwen · Pe mbroke Court, Darwen Provision of extra care at the seven schemes (split into the above 3 Lots) will require day time care support to individual tenants based on commissioned need, responses to care requests when a pull cord or handset is triggered and night time care cover across the schemes.
