About this contract
The purpose of this project is to quantify river flow losses seen in rivers within the Cotswolds Water Park where they flow across river gravel and to understand if this is naturally or artificially caused. The objectives include, reviewing and assessing previous studies and data collected within the Cotswolds Water Park Area, review groundwater and river monitoring within the Cotswolds Water Park undertaken by the Environment Agency, refine current conceptual model for the Cotswolds Gravel aquifer, quantify and account for flow losses at key points on the River Churn and Ampney Brook and understand actions needed to protect and improve river flows where artificial influences are the cause of flow losses.
