About this contract
Technology advances have enabled clinical staff to make more technology biased decisions than ever before. Electronic communication has enabled clinical staff to remotely collaborate, enabling improved decision making, which has in turn led to improved patient care Email Services provide the backbone of electronic communication within Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. Currently the Email service is provided by the Microsoft Exchange 2003 Email Solution. This solution is housed upon Windows 2003 Servers. Additional servers then provide archive storage for PST archive files. The Trust recognises that the platform is nearing end of extended support and also wishes to take advantage of new features that are available within later versions of the platform. Upgrade of the system would not only enable these features but ensure that the Trust maintains compliance with Health based legislation and regulatory controls. The Trust therefore requires to procure the a service to design, and build a new highly available environment, and then carry out the migration from the current platform to the new solution. Additional information: Please Note - All communications with the Trust, including the submission of this opportunity shall be conducted via www.nhssourcing.co.uk - The Trust does not bind itself to accept the lowest offer, or indeed any offer, but will judge the most appropriate as that which it considers to be the most economically advantageous. It reserves the right to accept an offer either in part or in full. The Trust also reserves the right not to award. In the event of an award not being made or the procurement being terminated, then bidders will have no right to recompense.
