About this contract

Reed in Partnership is on DWP's Framework (Umbrella Agreement for Employment and Health Related Services (UAEHRS) in the Central England region, which includes the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area. The DWP is working with The Marches LEP to commission a programme designed to support unemployed and economically inactive people enter and sustain employment across the Marches LEP area. It will focus on those with multiple barriers to employment, including lone parents, individuals with disabilities, homeless, and those with drug and alcohol dependency and learning disabilities among others. The programme will be delivered in the following areas, which fall within The Marches LEP: • Herefordshire; • Shropshire; • Telford and Wrekin. The provision will cover the following key elements; • Help unemployed and economically inactive people with disabilities or health conditions to enter and remain in work; • Assist lone parents, economically inactive benefit recipients with children and other disadvantaged parents to enter the workplace • Deliver tailored and personalised packages of support that will include mentoring and advocacy, practical soft skills training, job-related customised training and work experience; • Deploy measures which ensure early identification of the needs of disadvantaged people; • Engage with inactive older workers to extend their working lives; • Undertake activities that will support local recruitment such as brokering work trial and work experience opportunities; • Provide short pre-employment training courses; • Help those who have a limited work history and difficulty in attaining sustained employment; • Increase the participation by people from ethnic minorities in the labour market; • Develop the skills and employability of ex-offenders to help them enter the labour market, and; • Tackle specific barriers to work faced by unemployed inactive people in rural areas.
