About this contract
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) specialist laboratories carry out a range of molecular based diagnostic tests. In support of providing these services, we need the ability to extract DNA from human blood and other sources including but not limited to saliva, buccal swabs, plasma, serum and selected cell populations. The requirement for this procurement is for the supply and support of DNA Extractions systems. This Framework Agreement is divided into lots: Lot 1 - Manual DNA Extraction; Lot 2 - Routine automated DNA Extraction; Lot 3 - Cell-free DNA Extraction; Lot 4 - High throughput DNA Extraction; Lot 5 - Provision of maintenance, kits, reagents and consumables for our existing systems 1; Lot 6 - Provision of maintenance, kits, reagents and consumables for our existing systems 2; Lot 7 - High throughput cell-free DNA Extraction. This Framework Agreement is for a period of 4 years. It is the intention of NHSBT to award a Framework Agreement for these requirements by April 2017. The following contracting authorities will be able to purchase against the Framework Agreement: any NHS Authority or Trust, all UK Forum members (Welsh Blood Service, Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Service, Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service) and Irish Blood Transfusion Service.
