About this contract
Output required: High quality exhibition design and installation in 25 x 8 m gallery at Cartwright Hall. Purpose: 1. To provide an introduction to the life and work of David Hockney using the gallery walls and creating freestanding displays to include photographs and 3-D objects such as clothes and accessories. 2. To showcase Bradford's collection of Hockney artworks and emphasise the connection between Hockney and Bradford. 3. To provide a visitor attraction suitable for all the family, include elements that will appeal to children where possible but still maintain the appearance and atmosphere of a high quality art exhibition that is appealing to adults. 4. To include a simple interactive element as part of a studio recreation idea that focuses on Hockney's technique(s). 5. To include easily changeable elements to ensure the display can be refreshed with different artwork to remain interesting and attract repeat visitors. 6. Displays to include film(s) and a timeline.
