About this contract
The Children’s Commissioner for England promotes and protects children's rights and best interests. The Commissioner has embarked on a five year plan - Ambitious for Children to improve outcomes for children - particularly those who are most vulnerable. Responsible for representing the best interests of all children, this statutory role has particular responsibilities to listen and respond to children in care and others who are living away from home. An Advice and Assistance operates to provide advice, assistance and representation for children in care who are not getting the care and support they have a right to. The Commissioner wishes to significantly extend the awareness and use of the service. The aim is to ensure that all children in care are aware of the availability of this support by the end of 2017 with a tenfold increase in engagement with the service as a result. Creative support is sought to develop a brand and awareness raising campaign with support materials to deliver this. Additional information: Please download the ITT and submit your bid by 12th January 2016 The Service is currently named the ‘Advice, Assistance and Representation Service’ and takes phone calls and email enquiries from children, young people and adults contacting us on their behalf. The kind of issues raised by young people include their involvement in decision making; moves of placement; contact with siblings and other family members. The overall themes from their enquiries reflect the Commissioner’s broader aims for all children in care, which have emerged from the Commissioner’s care monitor survey
