About this contract
Devon County Council has received a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to deliver the Restoring Stover Park Project that will completely overhaul Stover Park's valued and at-risk heritage and engage audiences who may not normally visit the Park. The project team were recruited in March 2023, and work has now begun on the Delivery Phase, which will run from March 2023 to March 2026. The Restoring Stover Park Project has multiple strands: upgrading the visitor centre, building a community workshop, improving the car park, desilting Stover Lake, partially restoring the Serpentine Lake, creating two new access paths, repairing the Gatehouse, installing a range of interpretation around the site, and delivering a 3-year activity programme to engage a wide range of audiences in the Park and wider environment. To achieve this project a range of specialist contractors will be appointed over the 3 years. This piece of work - The Restoring Stover Park Project seeks to re-instate an approximate 300m section of the former 18th Century Serpentine Lake in Stover Country Park, between the Serpentine Bridge and the Liverton Brook to the west.
