About this contract
DCC require a Contractor to carry out Supervision (Quality Assurance checks) for all of the school crossing patrol officers in Devon. The frequency will be one visit per patrol per school term. There are three school terms in an academic year in Devon. These checks will comprise assessments of procedure, equipment, Health and Safety and the general wellbeing of the Patrol. At a frequency of not less than once per year, supervisors will also include a risk assessment of the highway in which the patrol operates. These risk assessments will be conducted during one of the three scheduled supervisory visits. The contractor will work with Devon County Council and the patrol to manage the level of risk to patrol, customers and motorists at each patrol site. The contractor will also help to ensure that operation of the site, as well as being safe and compliant, is efficient and reduces inconvenience and delays to drivers as far as is reasonably practicable. In addition to the core work described above there may be some extra Additional Tasks such as additional risk assessments or vehicle and pedestrian counts for which we will seek an hourly rate from the Contractor.
