About this contract
The requirement for large scale automated non-destructive testing (NDT) and metrology has been identified as a key element of the current capability expansion of the NCC to support existing and future research and manufacturing programs. The capability shall be specified, procured and commissioned to ensure suitability for industrial research and development programs as well as supporting maturation of emerging inspection technologies from academia toward industrial application. The capability should consist of an automated cell capable of using various off-the-shelf equipment to perform automated inspection procedures on a range of composite components and assemblies. Following the completion of this procurement activity, the initial technologies to be supplied and integrated into the cell are through transmission and pulse echo ultrasound (UT). A key requirement is that the cell is designed to be flexible with mechanical and control systems suitable for future technology additions and upgrades.
