About this contract

The contract will encompass the collection, segregation, treatment, recycling, re-use and disposal, where appropriate, for the following wastes streams: • Confidential Waste (paper and plastic) • White paper • Mixed coloured paper • Purge/One-off bulk paper disposal • Uniform Destruction • Media items such as Negatives, Transparencies, CD's and DVD's The Trust is open to consider further or extra segregation streams to be provided by the contractor. This information is to be specified in the pricing schedules. The successful supplier must be formally assessed and accredited to the BS EN 15713:2009 standard for Secure Destruction of Confidential Material. A copy of the relevant certificate must be provided as part of the tender response as evidence of accreditation. Any sub-contractor(s) (if used) must also be accredited to this standard and certification supplied as part of the tender response. The shredding of paper records must be conducted using a cross cut shredder that cuts the paper into pieces of no more than 15mm x 4mm. The contractor will carry out these services off site. The contractor will be required to treat all recovered waste paper by recycling and not by energy recovery or disposal to landfill. Waste2Energy can be used on plastics if recycling is not viable.
