About this contract
East and North Hertfordshire CCG are intending to procure a Community phlebotomy service for the population of East and North Hertfordshire. The length of contract is for 3 years and an offer of a further 2 year extension period. The current Community phlebotomy service is being delivered by the following providers: East and North Hertfordshire Trust (ENHT), Princess Alexandra Trust (PAH) and Royal Free London NHS Trust (RFL) following the restructure of the Pathology Partnership phlebotomy services in March 2017. EHNT is the main provider for community phlebotomy and the contract with ENHT ends on 16th April 2019. East and North Hertfordshire CCG are committed to ensure the provision of community phlebotomy services are, equitable, accessible, safe and cost effective across all localities as well as being in line with the Carter report of delivering efficiencies within the NHS; East and North Hertfordshire CCG also intends to create opportunities to deliver a community phlebotomy services in different ways, by ensuring integration across providers as well as providing accessible and equitable care close to patient's homes. The aim is to achieve better outcomes, improved patient experience and increased patient choice.
