About this contract

This contract is for the provision of parts and labour for the resurfacing of "Area 1" of Chesil Beach Car Park, Portland Beach Road, Weymouth, DT4 9XE (approximately 2200m2), using a heavy duty cellular paving system. Please note the contractor will be expected to provide site safety control and management throughout the duration of the works. The Council intend for the works to commence on the 5th June 2017. The works will include the resurfacing of Area 1 using a heavy duty cellular paving system and all associated works (specifically excavation of approximately 100mm to formation level followed by the placement a geotextile membrane and a 20mm bedding layer of sand, the installation of a cellular paving system and in-filling with 10mm singular sized gravel). The site will also require the placement of two ducts with concrete section manholes at each end and the general making good of surrounding area; to include the filling of potholes in the remainder of the car park with suitable excavated material. Note to contractor: Please be aware that vehicular access to and from the Car Park will need to be maintained throughout the duration of the works.
