About this contract
RBG Kew wishes to appoint a supplier to extract whole genomic DNA from 400 oak tree (Quercus robur) leaf samples and individually sequence their DNA to the maximum coverage possible within the budget. Quercus robur has a genome size of 750 Mbp. Each sample will be provided by RBG Kew in an individually labelled 2ml Eppendorf tube, containing approximately 200mg of dried leaf material (larger quantities may be provided upon request). We will also send 20 spare samples in case some are hard to extract DNA from. We wish to maximise the coverage per each sample (after QC and removal of duplicate reads) based on a fixed budget of £80,000 GBP (excluding VAT). Additional information: You are hereby invited by RBG Kew to submit a tender to meet the requirements in accordance with the specification and associated documents as contained within the tender pack.
