About this contract
Central Bedfordshire Council, as the relevant (lead) authority for the Bedfordshire & Luton Coroner Area, expects the provider contracted for offering toxicology services to the Coroner to have: 1. The ability to undertake toxicology and other investigations/examinations as required by the Coroner including interpretation, reporting and advice as required. More specifically the capacity to undertake: - o Forensic Toxicology (may only be required in a small number of circumstances) o Post-Mortem Toxicology o Human Performance Forensic Toxicology (may only be required in a small number of circumstances) 2. The ability to provide toxicology screening services in appropriate circumstances as directed by the Coroner prior to undertaking full PM toxicology and reporting. 3. Sufficient storage space for samples referred for analysis by the Coroner, including the ability to handle and store biological material and to refrigerate samples throughout the analytical process and to freeze samples (where appropriate) 4.
