About this contract
The DE&S Specialist EOD&S, Exploitation and Countermeasures (SEEC) delivery team intends to award a contract for an online catalogue of support, training, and welfare equipment for Military Working Dogs (MWD). The catalogue of products includes a diverse range of equipment, including but not limited to; dog waste bags, leads, and harnesses, through to made to measure dog handler bite suits, specialist training aids and agility equipment. All items supplied are to be of a suitable standard and quality that enables the Authority to continue to meet the five dog welfare needs listed in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 (lhttps://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/45/contents) and detailed in the DEFRA Code of Practice for the Welfare of Dogs 2017 (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/code-of-practice-for-the-welfare-of-dogs). The contract is for five years with options to extend by an additional two years making the contract a maximum of seven years in duration. The expected spend over the the full seven years is £3.1M. Throughout the life of the contract the Authority may request that items are added or removed from the catalogue due to evolving nature of the requirement.
