About this contract
The University of Bristol is seeking a suitably experienced specialist consultant to help progress a Challenge Programme and critically develop milestones, critical paths and resourcing plans. The primary theme of the work is Strategic Development. It is envisaged that the consultant will deploy one member of staff in a Lead Consultant role (with some, but limited additional back-up resource from the consultant's organisation) would be embedded for up to 6 months to assist the University in developing the Initial Programme, governance infrastructure and systems approach required to ensure future delivery of the Campus Framework. The consultant will work with the Chief Property Officer and Leadership Team, under the day to day management of the Director of Campus Development to: - Further shape the Brief and the process required to develop an Integrated Programme - Understand the key elements of the 6 Challenges and filter them into a clear and concise process map - Establish a draft integrated Headline Programme across the 6 Challenges, finding key points of delivery to highlight - Articulate the points of cross-over and alignment between Challenges within the Headline Programme - Outline the resourcing requirements to ensure the Programme can be delivered, both immediate term and longer term - Outline the integrated governance structure required to assure delivery of all agreed activity. - Develop a headline risk and issues assurance system and process to ensure a clear focus on risk and risk mitigation. - Bring a source of knowledge and expertise in developing and assimilating a 'whole' view across the Challenge Programme, assuring interfaces between challenges are identified and well managed, critical paths and decision points are articulated and dependencies identified whilst complementing strategic planning, space and place planning and delivery management. - Lead approved think-pieces and a workshop and workshop and information analysis process to ensure innovation, creative problem-solving and simplicity (in a complex environment) are high, visible and achievable objectives across the Programme. - Initiate the contents of a high-quality data-source for the Challenge Portfolio which enables clear thinking and achievable goal setting.
