About this contract

Lewisham Council (the Council) invites you to submit a Tender for landscape works as the major part of the regeneration of Beckenham Place Park, The Council wishes to improve the facilities the park offers to the communities surrounding it, and to attract a much more diverse and larger audience to use and enjoy it. The Council aims to make Beckenham Place Park the well-loved community asset it should be, as the largest park in South East London with significant ecological and historical value. We have been awarded £5 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund to support a comprehensive restoration scheme at Beckenham Place Park and we are about to embark on the delivery phase of the project, with the aim of completing works in May 2019. The landscape contract is being tendered alongside a contract to restore several heritage buildings within the park. The landscaping works comprise the following elements: • Creation of new lake and wet woodland area • Removal of car park outside the mansion and recreation of carriage way drive • Removal of golf course landscaping, and creation of a land art mound • New car park • Extension and improvement of gardens ('pleasure grounds') to include an orchard, 4 new formal garden rooms, community garden and small play area • Improvements to entrances • Installation of benches and bins New paths and upgrades to existing paths
