About this contract

Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) are looking to appoint multiple Landscape/grounds maintenance contractors of a small to large size that have experience undertaking landscape and or landscape maintenance operations as detailed below. Works are to be undertaken along the 90km route of the north section of HS2's Phase One route from Long Itchington to the centre of Birmingham. BBV are keen to hear back from landscape contractors that are qualified, insured, and have proven experience undertaking the listed activities. Essential criteria will be experience working on a construction site and a programme driven environment. *Please note planting stock will be provided. **Please also beware that the contract start date is subject to change. Capacity and availability is to be agreed as part of the tender process. Landscape Construction Ground Preparation (including but not exclusive to the following) • Weed Control • Vegetation clearance • Subsoil treatment • Topsoil cultivation Seeding (including but not exclusive to the following) • Conventional seeding • Hydraulic seeding Turfing operations Planting (including but not exclusive to the following) • Compost/ fertiliser • Planting pits, beds and trenches • Setting out • Hedgerow planting • Planting Whips, transplants & shrubs • Installation of Stakes, ties, tubes & guards • Planting trees • Mulches, ground preparation • Wildflower planting • Replacement of failed or defective plants Grass, Bulbs & wildflower maintenance • Species Rich Grassland • Acid Grassland • Heathland • Neutral Grassland • Calcareous grassland • Wet grassland • Ecological mitigation pond • marginal seeding • Grassland Natural regeneration • Amenity grassland • Top dressing & fertiliser • Grass cutting • Species rich grassland/ wildflower areas • Lineside grassland • Grassland natural regeneration • Bulbs and perennials maintenance Establishment Maintenance for Planting • Watering • Firming • Pruning • Tree accessories • Mulching • Weed control Maintenance of Established Trees & Shrubs • Weed control • Pruning • Climbing plants • Hedgerow maintenance • Arboriculture • Tree felling • Thinning and coppicing • Scrub control in grass Management of water bodies • Weed control • Silt • Reedbeds & marginal plants
