About this contract

The Authority (Department of Health and Social Care) is publishing this Invitation to tender for the procurement of Adult Social Care Workforce – Recruitment and Retention. <br/>In April 2023, the government published ‘Next steps to put People at the Heart of Care’, outlining a clear plan on how to achieve this. In 2024 the government announced the latest tranche of workforce reforms including the launch of the first ever national career structure for the care workforce, alongside a new nationally accredited social care qualification, and social work and social care nursing apprenticeships. <br/>In the immediate term, to support the delivery of these reforms.<br/>The Authority wishes to commission a core workforce support and improvement offer to compliment this ambition and these policies.<br/><br/>The contract start date is anticipated to be 1st August 2024 and up to March 2025, with an option to extend once for a further twelve months, at Authority sole discretion subjected to approval and funds.<br/><br/>The suppliers can register their interest via Atamis portal with reference C260570.<br/>This procurement follows the Open procedure route with Light touch regime (LTR) under The Public Contract Regulation 2015 - regulation 74 to 77.

The purpose of this procurement is to commission a supplier to provide support for providers and local authorities/regions on ASC recruitment and retention practises, through means of sharing best practice including developing and promoting support material. A specific focus of the first year (to March 2025) would be developing a support package for international recruitment practices for providers and local authorities/regions and delivering guidance and promotional activity with the aim of boosting domestic recruitment into ASC. The focus of boosting domestic recruitment in year one will be on supporting the recruitment of under-represented demographics – particularly men and young people – into care roles.£1,105,547
