About this contract

Cheshire East Council is looking to procure Taxi Licensing Vehicle Tests in accordance with Cheshire East Licensing Requirements. The Council is not allowed to grant a licence to a Hackney carriage or private hire vehicle unless it is satisfied that the vehicle is suitable in type, size and design, is in a suitable mechanical condition, safe and comfortable. Section 50 (1) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 allows the Licensing Authority to request the proprietor of any licensed hackney carriage or any private hire or applicant for such a licence to present the vehicle for test at whatever place the Council specifies; that place must be 'within the area of the council'.This procurement exercise will be conducted on Cheshire East Borough Council's electronic Contract and Tender Management System at the www.the-chest.org.uk Organisations wishing to be considered for this contract must register their expression of interest and provide additional required information through the Contract and Tender Management System.
