About this contract
Cheshire East Council's Public Health team have the responsibility for commissioning Infection Prevention and Control Services. As a Commissioner we expect to build an effective and strong working relationship with the Service, with shared values and vision regarding the delivery of this contract. The Service will be required to innovate and to design and propose a service delivery model as a part of the competitive tender process. The model should explore new ways of working, in line with our vision to ensure that the required outcomes are met. The focus of the service will be to reduce and sustain reductions in healthcare-associated infections. In particular, the service will support commissioners to achieve a reduction in the rate of Clostridium difficile infections (CDIs), in line with national objectives and support the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to deliver on the requirement for zero tolerance of avoidable MRSA bacteraemias.
